We have been using the Wrangle Silent Armor tyres due their outstanding road handling and the Wrangler MTR tyres due to their resilience to harsh 4WD tracks, everything from harsh stones and shale pitted sections to the worst corrugations. The Silica blend rubber compound of these tyres held up to extreme conditions and displayed very little chipping on the tread. Tyres are my number one concern when travelling into remote outback regions, the roads usually deteriorate to such a degree that every kilometer can spell disaster for tyres of average quality or in poor condition.
In my early days of outback travel, I quickly realised that a well manufactured tyre with a quality rubber compound will keep you mobile for longer especially when conditions get extreme. The advanced technology that is behind Goodyear's off-road product, DuPont Kevlar, Durawall technology an the latest silica blend compound gives me the reassurance I need when travelling in the remote outback."

'Goodyear Silent Armors and MTRs were used on our 07 trek Kimberley/Pilbara trek. These tyres took on some off the harshest roads we have encountered. Everything from harsh stone and shale pitted sections to the worst corrugations east of the Mitchell Falls. The rubber compound of these tyres held up to extreme conditions and displayed very little chipping on the tread. The compound displayed grip in wet conditions but was still strong enough to engage dry, rough sections'. (Wild Capture)
